The games and puzzles listed in this section were selected to develop those skills which are typically weak in individuals with NLD. The games cover a range of skill sets, ages, and developmental stages. Some may require parental instruction at first, and others are self-explanatory.

Computer games are a very effective teaching strategy, especially for children with NLD. They are able to learn in a one-on-one environment (the computer acting as teacher), at a pace that is appropriate for them, and most quickly forget, or are unaware, that the game covers a topic that may upset them.

Although there are many games to choose from, we recommend that you first target one or two skills that you would like to strengthen. Working on too many areas at once can be overwhelming and counterproductive. You will have the best results if the game is stimulating, a little challenging, but most of all, fun!

Click on one of the headings below, to find games that strengthen those particular skills:

Cognitive Skills

Visual-Spatial Skills

Visual Memory Skills

Language Arts Skills

Math Skills

Various/Combination Skills

Note:  Some games may not work with your specific web browser, and others may require downloading a free multi-media player such as Shockwave.
