 Watch Out for the Clowns   

A simple little exercise for very young children, and a good way for parents and teachers to introduce some basic concepts. (Skills: anticipation, cause and effect, similarities and differences, reading facial expressions)

Speech-Language Pathologist Tracy Boyd developed this game, in which players identify and sequence the steps necessary to accomplish everyday activities. (Skills: sequencing, life skills, cause and effect)

Young players learn to read analog and digital clocks and watches, in a game that provides a time and place to explore, to practice, and to play. (Skills: telling time) 

 Map Race   

A fun way to learn U.S. geography while matching shapes. (Skills: visual discrimination, visual perception, U.S. geography) 

 Lemonade Stand   

An online classic. Players operate a virtual lemonade stand for 30 "days" and try to maximize their earnings by making daily decisions based on market conditions, the cost of ingredients, even the weather!  (Skills: micro-economics, math skills, life skills)

 Change Maker   

A safe, economical, and effective way for youngsters to learn how to expect and count the correct change from a purchase. For added realism, players can choose from among several different national currencies.  (Skills: arithmetic, life skills) 

 Map Challenge   

Players can choose from basic, medium, and advanced challenge levels in this game based on map reading.  (Skills: visual-spatial skills, map reading, comparative distance estimation, grid coordinates, time zones) 

 Simon Says   

Designed to see how well players follow directions, this game is a lot more challenging than you'd think! (Skills: following directions, accuracy) 

 Carmen Sandiego   

A virtual detective agency, where players answer math, word, and general knowledge questions to save the good guys. Pretty slick, once you get the hang of it! (Skills: processing and following visual directions, math concepts of "greater/lesser than", strategic thinking and visual perception skills, and assorted general knowledge at a middle- to high school level)
